March 2026 VA Update
Hello pilots,
In this month's news we will provide some development and VA updates.
Historical routes
As mentioned before, we are in the process to implement historical routes and fleets in Star Alliance Virtual. This will take the form of separated fleet and route pages from the present routes & fleet.
We will first introduce historical routes for Thai Airways and Lufthansa, specially for those wanted to fly the beloved Boeing 727 or 737 Classic, the DC-10/MD-11, or the A300/A310. While these airlines will be added first, it does not mean that every route will be present. For each airline the time frame of the added routes may differ. For example, Lufthansa will have schedules between 1983 and 1995. This will give plenty of different historic aircraft models, in addition to being more widely available for the flight simulators most commonly used by pilots.
Despite Lufthansa becoming available, flights from Frankfurt (EDDF) and Hamburg (EDDH) hubs will be added first, other hubs like Munich (EDDM) and others will come later. This may also be the case for large airlines or those with many hubs.

Development updates
We have updated our support ticket submission to be more structured, which will allow you to more easily provide all the information we need so we can help you quicker. If you have any feedback about this, please let us know.
Schedule updates
Next month, as usual, the update of Northern hemisphere Winter to Summer schedules will take place. We will do it as quick as possible from the second week of April onwards and, as always, we will try to not disrupt any of the regular activities.
Tour updates
We continue to work on updating our existing tours. Recently a new themed tour dedicated to Cortina Winter Olympic Games was introduced, as well as new versions of the Thai Airways and Singapore Airlines tours. A new United Express Tour focus the regional United operations giving plenty of new legs with small aircraft.
The Formula 1 2026 Championship Tour is also on for this year with 24 stops and plenty of new connections to fly around the world. Finally Newark Hub Tour and new aircraft tours were also introduced, like for the ERJ and E-Jets.
The monthly tour is a second part of the World Tour '26 that takes you from central Africa to Eastern Europe.

Closed airspaces
The new developments regarding the crisis in the Middle East will be closely monitored, but at this moment with the uncertainty of the near future developments we are not taking any action regarding routes to the area. Remember that some current scheduled flight time durations may need to be amended due to longer flying times on account of closed airspaces. We would recommend checking your route prior to departure especially if it crosses and known airspaces with known security warnings. A complete overview can be found here. If the great circle route of your flight crosses any airspace with known safety NOTAMs a notice is placed on your flight briefing page.
Please adhere to these closures when performing flights on the VA. Reviewers may reject flight reports that cross long time conflict areas, but there are exceptions. In doubt please check FR24 or Flightaware for the real life flights.
Event Updates
